The five questions a license has to answer
Can you use the assets in something you sell? Can you use them in work you deliver to a client? Can you modify them, or are you buying them as-is? Does the right to use them end when something else ends, like a subscription or a project? And what are you not allowed to do with the files themselves?
Every other licensing question is a variation on those five. If a pack page cannot answer them in the words on the page, the answer you need is somewhere in a document you have not read yet, and that is worth two minutes before you spend anything.
Where the confusion usually comes from
Asset licenses vary more than prices do. Some are per project, so a second game means a second purchase. Some are per seat, which matters the moment a second person opens the files. Some cover personal work but stop at anything commercial. Some grant use only while a subscription is active, which turns a shipped game into a dependency on a payment continuing.
None of those terms is unreasonable on its own. The problem is assuming which one you have. The terms are the product just as much as the geometry is.
How it works on Polymade Store
Every pack ships under the same standard license. No tiers, no per-project add-ons, and no negotiation for ordinary use. You can use the assets in personal and commercial projects, including games you sell, film and video work, interactive pieces, and client projects. You can modify them to fit what you are building. You keep using them after purchase, with no expiry, no royalties, and no reporting back to us.
The one limit is redistribution: you cannot resell, redistribute, or repackage the raw assets themselves, on their own or inside another asset library, free or paid. The license is for making things with the assets, not for passing the assets around.
Where the full text lives
The complete license has not been published yet, because nothing is on sale yet. It will be published on the licensing page and included in every pack download before the first purchase is possible. The summary above describes the approach, and the published document will not contradict it.
If your situation is unusual, ask before you buy rather than after. Bundling assets into a tool, a template, or an engine you distribute is the case that comes up most, and it is the kind of thing worth a direct answer in writing.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use a pack in a game I sell?
Yes. Commercial use is covered by the standard license, including released and commercially distributed games, with no royalties and nothing to report back to us.
Can I use a pack in work I deliver to a client?
Yes. Client projects are covered. What you cannot do is hand the client the raw pack files as an asset library in their own right, because that is redistribution rather than use.
Does the license expire, or need renewing?
No. It is a one-time purchase and the rights do not lapse. There is no renewal date, no seat count to maintain, and nothing that stops working if you never buy from us again.
Can my whole team use one purchased pack?
The published summary covers your own use and your own projects, and team use is one of the details the full license text will state precisely. We would rather answer that in writing than guess at it here, so email support@polymade.com.au and you will get the actual position.
Can I modify the assets?
Yes. Modification is expected, not merely tolerated. Retopologising, retexturing, combining pieces, and cutting things down to fit your budget are all ordinary use.
